American society has been told it’s ok to download music. Entertainers work extremely hard to share their music with the world and people steal it. If you had a job and someone was stealing from you you wouldn’t like it now would you? Didn’t think so. Even if these artists do make alot of money their not making it from their music anymore their making it from endorsements. The entertainment business as of now is hurting pretty bad because the very low rate in record sales. If you keep downloading your favorite artists in result just might stop making music and then what’ll we listen to?! Old classics!!!!!!! We all know good music ages fast by the time most of us teenagers reach 21 these songs by Beyonce such as Ego will probably be known as an oldie goldie. Those who still movies!!! Now I do understand boot-legging is a hustle and a way to make money and it beats being a drug dealer. But do you realize that movie theaters might become non-existent because of what you guys are doing!!! Think!!!…….what will be the point of having a movie theater if it can’t make any money. Then where will you boot-leggers and downloaders get movies from!!!!!!!! HMMM that’s a nice a-ha moment for you. IPODS don’t get me wrong are kinda cool but do you people realize how obsessed people have become with technology?! I mean a phone is made to call someone not listen to music e-mail and podcast or whatever!!!!! Jesus!! Whats wrong with you people!!!!!!!! But i must admit this technology is realy cool. But don’t you think the media is distracting us with this new technology instead of us worrying about whats really important? Like a cure for AIDS or Cancer. Or maybe we should do something about this crime rate how bout that!! Maybe we should deal with real issues like this recession. Why is everyone blowing it out of proportion i mean Thank GOD it’s not like the Great Depression!!!!!! Mary Mother Of GOD if the recession is so bad why are most of the kids in my school walking around with FRESH Nikes and Jordans!! Why is wal-mart always so crowded and their not even that cheap!! Why are the majority of the female students in my school including me walking around with a fresh weave almost every 2 weeks!!!!!!!! Let me point out a recession is also another excuse for lazy men to not get their lazy buts up and look for a job!!!! The recession is bad but not as bad as you think. If it was that bad Mac and Apple store lines wouldn’t be so crowded!!!!Seriously as soon as i walk in i feel like i’m on a mothership to Africa!! Remember that things always can get worse.

Let me start off by saying that my name is Davetra. I have nicknames varying from Day-Day Yoshi Dave and Big-Bird. Big-bird is my band name given to me by one of my closest friends named Gladstone who will be playing in FAMU’s Marching 100 (shout out to radio)! I’m a Platinum Twighlight Twirler at North Miami Senior High. I’m currently getting ready to go into my sophomore year and i’m loving it!! All this wouldn’t be possible without my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I love to dance specifically Ballet. I started doing it at 3 and i haven’t stopped loving it since!! In Summer of 2009 my life truly changed when i found out that I not only have a passion for my dancing but for journalism and art also. Thanks to my mentor Ms.Kennedy who is a great teacher has helped me find my new passion. Did i mention i’m going to be on the school newspaper this year!!!! I’m African-american on my mothers side and Trinidadian on my fathers side. But when it’s all said and done i like to classify myself as black and i will be turning 16 on september 14th. Oh and my hair no longer has perm since the 8th grade i’m all natural and loving it!! I love children and i’m not looking forward to having any any time soon(to you boys)!! Tommorow is the last day of my 3 week course in my journalism class . Shout out to MOCA along with Ms.Kennedy and shorty Ms.Smith lol. Oh and i can’t forget the wonderful students who attended the class with me!!
